This recipe has been derived and used by the founder of We Are The Freedom Store for over 2 years now, created in response to her slow digestion and need for a strong anti-inflammatory to prevent the onset of early arthritis. She now swears by it for her ‘kick’ to start the day!“Taking this tonic every day before food has proven to cleanse, detoxify and help me from the inside out to feel good”. However there is a warning attached, the apple cider vinegar can be hard to get used to, if this is the case we suggest you omit from the recipe and add Goli or That Hippie Co Apple Cider Vinegar Capsules to your daily routine after drinking this soothing gut tonic.

GOOD MORNING GOOD GUT

INGREDIENTS:
¼ lemon (or ½ if the lemon isn’t very juicy)
¼ teaspoon Kanuka honey
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (with the ‘mother’)
note: build this up over time, our founder now takes 1 tablespoon (or omit as above)
Fresh ginger slice
Cold water & Boiling water

METHOD:
Squeeze the lemon onto the teaspoon of kanuka honey, add the turmeric, vinegar and ginger then add a small amount of cold water (note: kanuka can lose some of its healing properties if you add boiling water directly to it), then add boiling water to top up the cup whilst stirring and then drink straight away!
